Horseback Riding:

After 37 years in operation in Belize, MET is proudly focused on providing premium horseback trail riding adventures for our guests of all ages and experience level. In 2022 we have decided to change our offering and provide rides to mostly secluded and private locations.

Half-Day Rides:  Our Rainforest Valley (Half-Day ride) is perfect for family groups and those with minimal experience in riding but want to experience horseback riding in the jungle. Since the half-day is only between 2-2.5 hours long, this is a perfect ride for those who want to visit another attraction in the same day. This is also the better option for kids. We welcome children to ride as long as they are able to ride their own horse. For safety reasons, we do not allow children to ride on the same horse with their parents.

Full-day Rides: The Waterfall (Full-Day rides) are better for those who have more riding experience and can take the 5-6 hours in the saddle. Bring along your swimsuits and a towel if you want to take a refreshing swim at the waterfalls.

Riding Lessons: Lessons can be arranged for those who need a little bit more one-on-one coaching before hitting the trails. Ask us about what options are best for you.

Proximity to lush and stunning attractions:

We are located at Mile 8 Chiquibul Road in Cayo Belize. With the recent improvements to the road, we are minutes away from the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve and Elejio Panti National Park. MET is located and has access to over 300 acres of private protected forest, so we are home to a large variety of flora and fauna. If you love nature, you will be right at home sitting and taking in the lush vegetation from the comfort of our Cantina. Other attractions in the immediate area include but are not limited to Green Hills Butterfly Ranch (directly across the road from us), Barton Creek Cave, Calico Jack’s Village Zipline, Big Rock Waterfalls, Rio On Pools, Rio Frio Cave.

Breakfast with the Birds:

In addition to the surrounding jungle, we have planted numerous fruit trees and tropical flowers that naturally attract the birds, local and migratory. Because we have spent the last 37 years preserving the jungle areas on our property, we have become a haven and natural wildlife sanctuary. Our last bird count yielded a total of over 210 species just within a 5 mile radius of our headquarters in less than 24 hours. We can arrange a “Breakfast with the Birds” experience for those who would like to enjoy breakfast in our open-air dining area while being entertained by dozens of resident colorful hummingbirds sparring with each other around the nearby feeders and flowers. After breakfast, take a short walk around the grounds and the bird count will quickly rise with sightings of some of Belize’s most beautiful and even rare species.
