The full day horseback ride to Big Rock Falls starts at 8:30AM. You will receive an orientation before being introduced to your horse and being fitted to your saddle. The trail passes through rainforest, then transition areas, and up into the Mountain Pine Ridge. After about two or two and half hours you arrive at the waterfalls. Your horses will be tied while you hike down a steep path to the river. Enjoy your specially prepared lunch and a refreshing leisurely swim before returning to the horses for the ride back to MET. We have seen jaguar and puma tracks on the trail so it’s always a good idea to “keep your eyes peeled.” Your guide will point out features, birds, and will discuss traditional medicinal uses of plants and trees. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Bring your swimsuit and a towel, sunscreen and insect repellent. We will provide water bottles and saddle bags for your belongings. Price includes lunch and tax.
